The primary objective of this study was to examine the roles of the radio kogi and opinion leaders to the attainment in the goals of the MDGs in paving the way forward to meet the target of 2015; in Nigeria using Enugu North local government as a case study. In carrying out the study, the researcher used survey research method in which questionnaire as used to collect data required for the study. The broadcast media were known to play very fast and effective impact in disseminating information of the MDG’s messages to the people especially in rural areas. Radios seem to be the most effective in the rural areas It was recommended among others that the issue of poverty alleviation by both the media and opinion leaders especially the government focus more on skill acquisition. Also the media practitioners should be well informed as it concerns the MDGs so as to properly educate their audience.
