This study among other things looked at how variables like age, sex, educational qualifications, income, content, ownership, cover-price etc influence readers in the choice of newspaper they read. It also sought general information on newspaper readership in Enugu Urban Town into six areas. This New Haven; Abakpa / Trans – Ekulu, Uwani / Achara L/out Government Reservation Area; Asata / Ogui; and Independence L/out. Survey research method was used with questionnaire administered to collect data from respondents. Relevant literature in Mass Communication were reviewed. Seven research questions were raised. Four hypotheses were tested, using chi-square, tables and percentages. The researcher, recommends that (1) Editorial contents should be readers-oriented, (2) Advert campaign should be pursed to guaranty revenue and reduce cover-price, (3) Government should subsidies the cost of news print, (4) Government owned media-newspaper should consider their reader in their editorial content among others. The recommendations were based on findings.
