Abstract


THE STUDY WAS ON PROFIT MAXIMIZATION THROUGH COST- VOLUME PROFIT ANALYSIS AND PEACOCK PAINT NIG. LTD WAS SELECTED FOR THE STUDY. IN MANUFACTURING ORGANIZATION, INPUT COST AND VOLUME OF PRODUCTION IMPACTS HEAVILY (POSITIVELY OR NEGATIVELY) ON COOPERATE PROFIT. IDENTIFICATION OF UNITY COST OR PRODUCTION MAXIMIZING THE COST AS WELL AS INCREASING THE QUANTITY PRODUCED SOLD GIVE AN ENTERPRISE A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY WAS TOP DETERMINE THE EXTENT TO WHICH THE CASE STUDY USES COST- VOLUME PROFIT ANALYSIS TO DISCOVER THE EFFECT ON PROFIT WHEN THERE ARE CHANGES IN VARIABLE AND OTHER COSTS. TWO MAIN SOURCES OF DATA WERE EMPLOYED FOR THE STUDY. THESE WERE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY DATA SOURCES.

QUESTIONNAIRE RESPONSES WERE TABULATED USING PERCENTAGES. THREE HYPOTHESIS WERE TESTED FOR VALIDITY USING

THE CHI-SQUARE STATISTIC. THE TEST PRODUCE THE FOLLOWING AMONG OTHERS:

  1. PEACOCK PAINT NIG.LTD. USES COST-VOLUME-PROFIT ANALYSIS  TECHNIQUE IN IT’S PROFIT PLANNING.

COST-VOLUME PROFIT ANALYSIS HAS BEEN VERY RELEVANT IN THE EFFICIENT PERFORMANCE RECORD BY THE COMPANY ANNUALLY. THE STUDY CONCLUDED THAT TECHNIQUE IS A NECESSARY TOOL FOR PROFIT PLANNING FOR ALL MANUFACTURING COMPANIES. THE STUDY RECOMMENDED THAT THE COMPANY SHOULD COMMUNICATE ALL ASPECTS OF COST-VOLUME PROFIT ANALYSIS INFORMATION TO ALL IT’S OPERATION PROMPTLY.
